Mindfulness Based Habit Change Class
The Mindfulness Based Habit Change Class is based on the research of Judson Brewer, MD, PHD, Director of Research and Innovation at Brown University Center for Mindfulness.
In the 7-week class, we will explore how habits are formed and how with mindful awareness, we can step out of habits that no longer serve us. The program is based on the neuroscience research of how we learn, through Reward Based Learning.
We will look closely at anxiety and the behaviors we do in our attempts to feel better. Overtime, these behaviors become habits. In this class, we learn to tap into the reward based learning system to change these habits from a place of embodied awareness.
We will learn to map our habit loops, identifying the trigger, behavior, reward. Mapping our habits helps us to see ourselves. Dr. Brewer says, “We have to see ourselves to change.” Seeing clearly, with curiosity and kindness, brings an awareness that opens up the possibility of letting go of old habits and into a new way of being.

Cost
We believe strongly in making this class available to anyone who believes that mindfulness might be helpful in their life and is willing to commit themselves to do the work. Therefore, we offer this class on an honor-based "pay as you are able" system with suggested rates. The generosity of everyone paying as much as you are able towards your suggested rate directly supports our ability to offer the class to everyone regardless of finances.

If any of these levels are difficult for you, please consider the class anyway. No one is ever turned away for financial reasons. We ask that you decide what amount you can pay. This amount is a commitment and investment in your own process, and this amount helps support the financial health of the class and our ability to offer this kind of adjustable sliding scale. As such, the amount that makes the class possible for you works for us.
