In this 5-week class, we will explore how habits around anxiety are formed and how with mindfulness we can step out of habits that no longer serve us. We will work with changing how we relate to anxiety and allow it to unwind on its own. The class is based on the research of Judson Brewer, MD, PHD, Director of Research and Innovation at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
What to Expect:
- To understand the neuroscience of how habits are set up through Reward-Based Learning
- To recognize when caught in a habit loop
- To learn to map your habit loops identifying the “trigger, behavior, reward”
- To work with mindfulness to see clearly what you get out of the habits
- To tap into feelings of disenchantment with habits that no longer serve you
- To change how you relate to anxiety and to step into a new way of being
Come join us as we explore our habits and find our way to the path of freedom.
Dr. Brewer’s book, Unwinding Anxiety or The Unwinding Anxiety App is required for the class. During the class period, accessing a discount code for the App is available. Please reach out to Clara at [email protected] with any questions.
